Adamson welcomes 3,251 college freshmen amid health crisis



Despite the limitations to online classes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Adamson University still managed to record 3,251 freshmen for the first semester of Academic Year (A.Y) 2020-2021.

The University recorded a total of 9,852 college enrollees, an almost 900-person decline compared to the same period last year.

The freshmen count is quite distant from the the University's target freshmen enrollees which is 4000. It is also fewer compared to last school year’s 3461.

Similar to the previous years, the College of Engineering stood among the University’s programs with the highest numbers of students at 3,655. While it was only the College of Business Administration and the College of Science who reach the four- digit mark with 2,063 and 1,588 respectively.

The College of Architecture ranked fourth with 717 students, followed by the College of Education and Liberal Arts (CELA) at 556.

Among all the programs, CELA has decreased the most - compared to its 883 students last year.

The College of Pharmacy recorded 378 enrollees while behind is the College of Nursing which has 226.

The College of Law has the least population with 138. On the other hand, the Graduate school has 374 enrollees.

Adamson University has shifted to flexible learning and acquired Blackboard, a new Learning Management System to maximize classes amid the changes brought by the coronavirus pandemic.

Aside from the new learning scheme, the University has also established the Center for Innovative Learning which would focus on the demands of the country’s rapidly changing educational landscape, and the redesigning of the campus for possible face-to-face classes on the Second Semester of the school year.
