Axelum clarifies it’s not owned by Villars as brand boycott trends online

Coconut product manufacturer Axelum Resources Corp. set the record straight after it was mistakenly identified as one of the companies owned by the family of Manny Villar.

Villar’s wife, Sen. Cynthia Villar faced a new wave of backlash for undermining the struggles of healthcare workers for asking them to work harder, leading to angry netizens calling for a boycott of her family businesses.

In a statement, Axelum denied any association with the Villar family, who owns Vista Land & Lifescapes Inc., Starmall, Coffee Project, AllDay supermarket and convenience stores and Prime Water Infrastructure Corp.

“Axelum, owner and maker of Fiesta brands, is not a member of the Villar Group of Companies…Dutifully, through various organizations, Axelum has extended financial assistance and donations of.kind and essential items to hospitals and the broader sector of society who are most vulnerable at this time,” said the listed coconut expprter.

The company likewise pointed out that since its inception in1986, it has been advocating community farming to help uplift the lives of coconut farmers.
