Science-fiction author, editor and critic Barry N. Malzberg (Herovit's World, Galaxies, Beyond Apollo, The Falling Astronauts) passed away on Dec. 19 at the age of 85. As a memorium of sorts, we're re-running this Carter Scholz column from The Comics Journal #82 (July 1983), in which Scholz sings the praises of the "SF writers' writer."
