SDCC 2026 was a casual affair for me since I was only there on Friday for the Eisner Hall of Fame induction ceremony and some afternoon panels that I was able to make. The female 2026 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards Hall of Fame inductees were Colleen Doran, Edwina Dumm (deceased), Lee Marrs and Carol Tyler. All four have long and distinguished comics careers and canvassed a variety of mediums/genres from newspaper strips, underground comix, indie/alternative comics to mainstream comics. The highlight for me was Doran, Marrs and Tyler were in attendance to accept their trophies in person and give heartfelt speeches. Also, Jackie Estrada, the long running Eisner administrator, stepped down on top from the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards Hall of Fame this year. So, it was a nice mix of veteran comic book talent/publishers, current comic book talent and up and coming comic book talent in attendance at SDCC 2026 for fans to meet and to visit with.
