Adamson University has shifted to flexible learning and has acquired a new Learning Management System to maximize classes amid the changes brought by the coronavirus pandemic.

University President Fr. Marcelo V. Manimtim, CM, in a statement released last June 26, confirmed previous announcements about the developments.

“Following the guidelines of government agencies, Adamson University adopts a Flexible Learning Program that guarantees continuing quality education for its students while safeguarding the health and safety of the whole Adamson community,” Fr. Manny wrote in the statement(reword).

He also explained the University’s latest acquisition of the Blackboard Learn Ultra for the College Departments and Schoology for the Basic Education Department, saying these LMS would provide students with a comprehensive learning experience.

With the said shift, the University has begun to train all faculty members and administrators to facilitate the transition from traditional to flexible education. AdU has also reinforced the library with numerous digital instructional resources for the said (transition).

Fr. Manny also announced the establishment of the Center for Innovative Learning which would focus on the demands of the country’s rapidly changing educational landscape, and the redesigning of the campus for possible face-to-face classes on the Second Semester of the school year.

Despite having multiple changes in learning modes and upgrades in facilities, Fr. Manny assured the University will consider the financial difficulties that the families of students are experiencing during the pandemic.

“Our topmost priority is to ensure that our students have a fair chance of learning,” he said, reiterating that the University will not be implementing a tuition fee increase this school year, and announcing a significant decrease in miscellaneous fees.

AdU will also provide free regular monthly data support for the First Semester of SY 2020-2021, as well as facilitate laptop acquisition of faculty members and students through an installment arrangement.

As of this writing, the University Registrar has announced an extension of enrollment from July 15 to August 22.
