Katigbak asks for prayers, support as ABS-CBN faces possible rejection of its application

The top official of beleaguered media giant ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. has once again appealed for public support as the network faces possible rejection of its application for a new operating franchise.

“We are hopeful that the hearings will soon come to a close, and we would like to lean on you again for your support and prayers,” ABS-CBN president Carlo Katigbak said in a statement.

“If you believe our service to be important and valuable to you, and if you believe that ABS-CBN is deserving to continue providing that service, please let your thoughts and feelings be heard, ” he added.

Meanwhile, actress Liza Soberano turned to her loyal fan base for support as ABS-CBN’s fate may soon be decided upon by the House of Representatives.

On Twitter, Soberano hinted that the house committee on legislative franchises might soon vote on ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal application.

“I received what was probably one of the most heart breaking text messages from one of our leaders in ABS-CBN. The little fan girl in me is probably crying so hard right now,” Soberano said in a series of now-viral tweets.

“To all of my loving supporters, if it’s not too much to ask, and if ABS-CBN has ever positively impacted you in one way or another, I humbly ask that you please pray for the company and all of its employees.

To the congressmen and women who are tasked to decide upon our franchise renewal, please, open up your hearts and hear our voices. ABS-CBN has always and will always be in service of the Filipino people,” she added.
