Fiber internet and broadband services provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. on Thursday said its services will not be impacted with its planned maintenance activity.
"In line with the planned maintenance activity on the AAG international submarine cable, we would like to inform our subscribers that our services will not be impacted," it said in an advisory on Facebook.
The company said it has sufficient international capacity on multiple cable systems to be able to deliver connectivity.
"We will continue to deliver connectivity as we have sufficient international capacity on multiple submarine cable systems, linking to Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the USA," it said.
Internet connection has become a very important commodity amid the COVID-19 pandemic due to students having online classes and employees working from home.
In July, Converge said it is set to spend as much as P33 billion for the remainder of this year and the next primarily for its expansion plans.
Converge said it has commissioned an "innovative and flexible" high-capacity backbone from a US-based networking systems, services, and software company. —KBK, GMA News
